APEX Tutors' aim is to provide quality private tuition on a one-to-one basis at a competitive price. This has been the philosophy since the principals, who are qualified teachers, started the agency in 1980.

We do not book on-line since we firmly believe it is better to speak to the parent or adult responsible, in order to establish exactly what their particular request is and discuss the pupil's needs. This way we can offer advice as every individual is different and we try to match the right tutor for the pupil.

Individual tuition is the best type of extra help for everyone as it is tailored specifically for the person who needs it. Having your own tutor helps the student gain confidence when something that is not understood in class can be fully explained in the privacy of their own home or in a quiet room at the tutor's home. We do arrange for a group of no more than three when a pupil wants to share a lesson with friends.

All tutors have to complete our registration form, provide proof of their qualifications, supply two referees to give written references and have a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (formerly called CRB). The tutors are either current or former classroom teachers or graduates with experience. Many tutors have been with us for 10-15 years, some even longer.

IN over 30 years, the agency has arranged tuition for thousands of pupils in the London and Hertfordshire areas and we get countless recommendations from satisfied parents who use our services for often more than one member of their family. As well as arranging the usual one hour a week support, we have been used by Local Education Authorities and charities, organised tuition for home schooled children, children coming from abroad in school holidays and liaising with schools who want a pupil to have extra tuition privately.
