About the Business

Founded in 1979, CES has over 30 years' experience teaching the English language to students from across the globe. In England all teachers have, as a minimum, either the Trinity TESOL or Cambridge CELTA qualification, with many holding specialist EFL teaching diplomas and degrees. In Ireland all of our teachers hold a university degree plus an ACELS recognised teaching qualification, with many holding specialist EFL teaching qualifications, such as DELTA.

All of our schools in Ireland and England our teachers are chosen not only for their experience but also for their enthusiasm, positive attitude and their ability to make language learning fun.

All CES schools offer homestay and a wide variety of accommodation options. The combined academic knowledge, administrative skills and depth of experience of our staff in the UK and Ireland means that CES can provide and deliver courses and service that will meet your exact requirements.

In 2007 CES was awarded the ‘Star English Language School in Europe’ with four centres or less and we were shortlisted for the same award every year between 2008 – 2011. CES is the only school to have been nominated for this award for 5 consecutive years! CES is recognised and accredited by the British Council in England and ACELS (the Irish Department of Education) in Ireland. CES Ireland is also a founding member of Marketing English in Ireland (MEI).

CES is also proud to have a number of our year-round schools as full EAQUALS members. CES Dublin is also an official IELTS Test Centre and a PEARSON test centre. CES Leeds and Harrogate is an official IELTS Test Centre.

School and Study Groups

School and Study Groups

CES accepts school and university groups for both adults and juniors from all over the world on group packages from January-May and September-December each year in Dublin, Worthing, London, Oxford, Edinburgh, Leeds and Harrogate. This programme combines expert English language tuition with a fun, interesting social and cultural programme. The packages are built to suit your requests and can be for any length of time and include as many lessons as you require. We design the group packages to suit your needs.

Classes are divided into two sessions. The first part of the class concentrates on grammar structures and writing skills. The second part of the class is designed to improve listening and oral skills. Role play, communication exercises and authentic materials are used. Classes take place either in the morning or afternoon, from Monday to Friday.

As well as excellent tuition, CES can offer many leisure activities and homestay accommodation. Each study group programme is individual and made to measure.

Junior English Language and Activity Programme

Junior English Language and Activity Programme

CES International Junior Summer School combines expert English language training with a full programme of sports, activities and cultural visits.

The morning lessons focus on developing the core language skills, with particular emphasis given to speaking and listening. Vocabulary and pronunciation work are integrated into each session. We use role-plays, AV technology, project work, and task-based activities to develop students’ communicative skills. Students will also be asked to research and give weekly presentations on various aspects of Irish culture, myth and legend.
