Hastings is a unique blend of the traditional and modern. It is an attractive seaside town situated on the South East Coast of England and offers something for everyone.
The castle which overlooks the town was built by William the Conqueror in 1066 - the most famous date in English history. At the Battle of Hastings the French Normans defeated the English and changed England and the English language forever.
Hastings has a long tradition of welcoming language students. Over 35,000 language students choose to come to the town every year. Hastings is a popular tourist resort with all the facilities of a modern seaside town - cinemas, a wide range of restaurants, pubs and clubs, a modern shopping centre and two theatres. There are also around thirty major annual events in the local calendar including open-air concerts, sporting events, and firework displays.
